Hotel-Restaurant El Camí history

In 1962 the family decided to make Columbus their home in a rural inn (inn) 6 rooms, and thus was established the Inns "Fonda el Camí", managed by Mr. Salvador Rovira Columbus and his family.

The first customers took the Fonda was the own country, but soon came the French and German tourists.

In the mid-60s Fonda ampliarn expand its capacity to 22 rooms. The business prospered because it was very familiar. The word of mouth was the best propaganda.

The first major change came in the 85th constructed the first 6 rooms with bathroom. In those years it was the most demanding tourist.

In 2001 Fonda passes into the hands of two children in Salvador, Josep M. and Francis, who along with Rosa M. and Yolanda have this family business grow. After reforms Fonda bought the two-star category Hotel. He spent 22 to 42 rooms, the business was expanded and became prosperous.

Since 2006, the restaurant also has evolved along with the Hotel, becoming one of the most popular restaurants in the home village of Cambrils.

Today the hotel has been in the middle of town, near services, such as CAP, police, town hall, shops, sports complex, museums, ...
